Black Vault User Guide
Official documentation for Black Vault by Jutt Cyber Tech — setup, encryption, app lock & more.
Welcome to the official documentation for Black Vault by Jutt Cyber Tech. This guide covers everything from initial setup to advanced security features, ensuring you get the maximum privacy protection from our software.
Critical Warning: Zero-Knowledge Architecture
Black Vault uses true 256-AES local encryption. We do not have a backdoor. If you forget your Master PIN and lose your recovery email access, your data is permanently irretrievable. Jutt Cyber Tech cannot reset your password or recover your files under any circumstances.
1. Getting Started
Setting Up Your Vault
- Launch the Black Vault application.
- You will be prompted to create a Master PIN (or Pattern). Make sure it is memorable but impossible to guess.
- Set up a Recovery Email. This is highly recommended as it is the ONLY way to reset your PIN if you forget it.
- Grant the necessary storage permissions so the app can encrypt and hide your files.
2. The File Vault
Hiding Photos and Videos
To secure media files, open the Vault, navigate to the Photos or Videos section, and tap the + (Add) button. Select the files from your public gallery. Once imported, Black Vault encrypts the files and removes the originals from your public gallery.
Exporting Files
If you wish to make a file public again, select it inside the Vault and tap Unhide / Export. The file will be decrypted and restored to its original location on your device.
3. App Lock (Android Only)
The App Lock feature prevents unauthorized access to other applications on your device (e.g., WhatsApp, Banking apps, Social Media).
- Navigate to the App Lock tab.
- Grant Usage Access and Display Over Other Apps permissions (required for the lock screen to appear).
- Toggle the switch next to the apps you wish to secure.
- You can choose to unlock these apps using your Master PIN or your device's Fingerprint/Face unlock.
4. Advanced Security Features
Disguise Mode (Calculator / Clock)
You can change the Black Vault app icon and interface to look like a standard system calculator or clock.
- Go to Settings > Disguise App.
- Select your preferred disguise (e.g., Calculator).
- To access the real Vault while disguised as a Calculator, type your Master PIN into the calculator and press the = (equals) button.
Intruder Selfie
If someone tries to guess your PIN and fails multiple times, Black Vault will silently take a photo using the front-facing camera.
- Go to Settings > Intruder Selfie and enable the feature.
- You must grant Camera permissions for this to work.
- Photos of intruders are stored securely inside the Vault under the "Intruders" section.

6. Sandbox Data Storage — How It Works
Black Vault stores all your files inside an Android App Sandbox — a completely isolated private directory that only the Black Vault app can access.
- No other app on your device can read, write, or delete your vault files.
- System file managers and photo galleries cannot see your hidden files.
- Even if your device is connected to a PC via USB, the sandbox directory is not accessible.
- Files are only accessible when you unlock the vault with your Master PIN, Pattern, or Fingerprint.
Important: Uninstalling the App
If you uninstall Black Vault without first exporting your files, all sandboxed data will be permanently deleted by the Android system. Always export your important files before uninstalling.
7. Troubleshooting
I forgot my PIN!
If you set up a Recovery Email during onboarding, enter an incorrect PIN three times. An option to "Forgot Password" will appear. Tap it, and a reset code will be sent to your email. If you did not set a recovery email, your data cannot be recovered.
The App Lock is delayed or getting killed
Some Android manufacturers (like Xiaomi, Huawei, or Samsung) aggressively kill background processes to save battery. To ensure App Lock works instantly:
- Go to your device's Settings > Apps > Black Vault > Battery.
- Set the battery restriction to Unrestricted or No Restrictions.
- Lock the app in your recent apps menu.
